Low Fidelity Prototypes

Low fidelity prototypes are essential to evaluate basic interaction ideas.

Description

A good example for a low fidelity prototype is a paper prototype. They do not have any high quality and are only used to get some feedback to some very first ideas not on the details.

Is it uncomfortable for users?

It can be a strange feeling for the users to have a prototype of low fidelity but that they will get used to it after very soon. The big advantage of low fidelity prototypes, however, is that users have to focus on the main interaction. They can not get lost in giving feedback on small design details.

Evaluating the overall concept is the core functionality of low fidelity prototypes.

Importance

These prototypes should be relevant to every UX designer as they bring massive results for future improvements but can be created relatively quick what makes them very attractive from an economic perspective, too.
